It was another great day out on the water with Spencer for our 5-Hour Fishing Trip here on South Padre Island, TX. June is a prime time for fishing all around these parts, with the warming waters bringing the fish into the shallows. We met up at the usual spot in South Padre Island, got the gear loaded up, and headed out to chase some inshore and nearshore targets.

As soon as we got the lines in the water, the action started picking up. We worked some deeper structure with some jigging and light tackle, and Spencer was into a nice Redfish right away. That fish put up a great fight, making a couple nice runs before we were able to get it in the boat. Not too long after, he hooked into a feisty Spotted Weakfish that had the drag singing. We mixed it up, drifting some flats and working the seawall with a mix of live bait and artificials, and the fish kept coming. It was another beautiful day down here in South Padre Island, TX, and I was excited to take Jay Sluder and his crew of 4 out for a morning of great fishing. April is a prime time for targeting Redfish in these waters, as the warming temperatures have them feeding aggressively in the shallows. I met the group at our usual spot in South Padre Island just before 7:30 AM, got everyone squared away, and we headed out to our first spot. 

As we cruised along, I could see the water was in great shape—nice and clear, with just a light chop on the surface. Perfect conditions for our light tackle and jigging setups. We started working some deeper channels and points, slowly drifting and working our lures. It wasn't long before Jay's rod slammed down, and he was into a solid Redfish. The fish put up a great fight, taking line and making some powerful runs, but Jay kept his cool and worked it to the boat. We got it measured, snapped a quick photo, and released it to fight another day. The rest of the crew got in on the action too, with a few more Redfish coming over the rails.

Throughout the trip, we mixed it up, bouncing between deep water jigging, drifting with live bait, and even a little sight fishing in the shallows. The Redfish were fired up, and we had a blast chasing them around. In between the bites, we took in the amazing views and just enjoyed being out on the water—not a bad way to start the day! Even though we didn't quite fill the cooler, the smiles on everyone's faces told me they had a great time.

Started about 1 1/2 miles from the intercoastal waters drifting into shallow waters 1 1/2' deep. we managed to catch 6 (limit) right away. so we kept them in the live well and started putting them back as we caught larger fish.</div>

What a fantastic day out on the water with Jonathan Tanner at South Padre Island, Texas! The weather was perfect - partly cloudy throughout the day, which made for comfortable fishing conditions. The water was great, and we were excited to get our lines in and see what the fish were biting.We started the day with some sof plastic fishing, working the deeper waters for big reds and black drum. The Crevalle jacks were really fired up, putting up some great fights on our light tackle. As the tide shifted, we switched to some slower, drift fishing, and that's when the spotted seatrout really started to turn on. Jonathan was hooking into fish left and right, and we had a blast working the flats and cuts for those speckled trout.By the time we wrapped up the trip, we had a nice mixed bag - some nice redfish, black drum, Crevalle jacks, and plenty of spotted seatrout. It was the perfect blend of different techniques and species, keeping us on our toes and giving us a well-rounded experience.
