<p><p>What a morning we had out on the water with John and the crew here at South Padre Island, Texas! The weather was partly cloudy throughout the day, but the fishing was red hot. As we met up at 7 AM, I knew this was going to be a great trip - April is prime time for both Red Drum and Spotted Seatrout in these parts, and the conditions were lining up perfectly.</p><p>We started the day working different lures and depths to locate the baitfish. It didn't take long before John's rod bent over hard, and he was into a nice Redfish. That fish put up a great fight, stripping drag and making some strong runs, but John kept his cool and landed it beautifully. From there, the bite just kept getting better. The guys were tossing light tackle jigs and working the shallows, and we started seeing Spotted Seatrout oil slicks left and right. The action was nonstop, with fish smashing our baits as soon as they hit the water.</p><p>In between the flurries of activity, we drifted some live bait and enjoyed the gorgeous South Padre scenery. It was another beautiful day down here in South Padre Island, TX, and I was excited to take Jay Sluder and his crew of 4 out for a morning of great fishing. April is a prime time for targeting Redfish in these waters, as the warming temperatures have them feeding aggressively in the shallows. I met the group at our usual spot in South Padre Island just before 7:30 AM, got everyone squared away, and we headed out to our first spot. 

As we cruised along, I could see the water was in great shape—nice and clear, with just a light chop on the surface. Perfect conditions for our light tackle and jigging setups. We started working some deeper channels and points, slowly drifting and working our lures. It wasn't long before Jay's rod slammed down, and he was into a solid Redfish. The fish put up a great fight, taking line and making some powerful runs, but Jay kept his cool and worked it to the boat. We got it measured, snapped a quick photo, and released it to fight another day. The rest of the crew got in on the action too, with a few more Redfish coming over the rails.

Throughout the trip, we mixed it up, bouncing between deep water jigging, drifting with live bait, and even a little sight fishing in the shallows. The Redfish were fired up, and we had a blast chasing them around. In between the bites, we took in the amazing views and just enjoyed being out on the water—not a bad way to start the day! Even though we didn't quite fill the cooler, the smiles on everyone's faces told me they had a great time.

Started about 1 1/2 miles from the intercoastal waters drifting into shallow waters 1 1/2' deep. we managed to catch 6 (limit) right away. so we kept them in the live well and started putting them back as we caught larger fish.</div>

</p><p>What an exciting day out on the water with Steve Hillary and the team from Today We Fish Charter and Adventures! The weather was beautiful, with clear skies and calm seas - perfect conditions for our Deep Sea, Jigging, Light Tackle, and Drift Fishing techniques.</p><p>We started the day drifting through 2.6' of water and almost immediately hooked into a nice Red Drum. The fish put up a great fight, but we were able to land it safely and get some great photos. As we continued exploring different areas, the action just kept getting better. We found a hot spot for spotted sea trout and were able to catch several feisty specimens using our Jigging setup. A little later, we switched to Drift Fishing with plastics and had a blast reeling in some&nbsp;</p><p>It took some skilled maneuvering, but we eventually got that beauty in the boat as well. The whole group was thrilled to see such a impressive catch.
