Landed Trophy Flatheads and Seatrout in a Rio Hondo Angling Extravaganza

It was a beautiful morning in Rio Hondo, Texas, as we set out on our 5 Hour (AM)Fishing Trip with Today We Fish Charter and Adventures. The weather was clear, and the conditions were just right for a great day on the water. Though we didn't have any specific details about the trip, I knew this time of year in this part of Texas is prime time for targeting fish like Flathead catfish and Spotted seatrout. As we got our lines in the water, the action started almost immediately. The Flathead catfish were really fired up, hitting our baits hard and giving the anglers on board a serious workout. We switched up our techniques, trying deep-sea, jigging, light tackle, and drift fishing to see what they wanted. The fish were in a feeding mood, and we managed to boat some nice Spotted seatrout as well. It was just nonstop excitement, with rods bending and drag peeling all morning long. The two anglers with us, Mike Flores and his buddy, were all smiles the entire time. They were having a blast working the different techniques and feeling the raw power of those Flathead cats. In between the flurries of action, we had the chance to take in the beautiful Texas scenery and enjoy the peace and quiet of being out on the water. It was the perfect mix of great fishing and good company. If you're looking to experience some of the best fishing in Rio Hondo, TX, I highly recommend booking a trip with Today We Fish Charter and Adventures. "An Exhilarating Day of Spotted Seatrout and Redfish Bliss with Vicki!"

Today was an absolute blast out on the water with Vicki and the crew. February is a great time of year for fishing here, with the Spotted Seatrout and Red Drum (Red Fish) really active in the mild conditions. We met up at 7 AM and couldn't wait to get the lines in the water and see what the day had in store. As soon as we got set up and started working the flats, the fish started hitting. Vicki was the first one to hook up, her rod bending over as she battled a nice Spotted Seatrout. After a solid fight, she brought it in, and we got a good look at the beautiful spotted pattern before carefully releasing it. Not long after, one of the other anglers hooked into a nice Red Drum that had us all cheering as it made a few good runs. The action kept up steadily throughout the morning, with everyone getting in on the fun. The weather was just perfect - sunny skies, light winds, and comfortable temperatures made for an incredibly pleasant day on the water. February 14, 2025

Cast your line and drift away into a tranquil oasis of scenic views and serene solace.

Today was a perfect day to get out on the water with Nick Gerlach for a 3 Hour Quick Trip with Today We Fish Charter and Adventures. The weather was cold- the skies were clear, the water was great, and the conditions were just right for a fun and relaxing time on the bay.

Though we manage to land a few trout, we still had a wonderful time out on the water, enjoying the scenic views and each other's company. I always love these quick trips - it's a chance to get away from it all, unwind, and just focus on the simple joy of fishing. Even without any huge hauls, the peaceful setting and good vibes make it a memorable experience.

The time flew by as we tried different techniques, working the water to see what the fish were biting on. We switched it up, trying our luck in different spots, but the fish just didn't seem to be cooperating today. Still, it was great to be out on the bay, taking in the sights and sounds of nature. Sometimes it's not just about the catch - it's about the overall experience, and this trip definitely delivered on that front.

If you're looking for the best fishing experience in the area, I highly recommend booking a 3 Hour Quick Trip with Today We Fish Charters.
