My buddy Steve Gaczynski and I headed out this morning for a 5-hour fishing trip with Today We Fish Charter and Adventures, and it turned out to be a great day on the water.

The clear conditions throughout the day were ideal for spotting those Spotted seatrout we were after. With mild temperatures and great water conditions, we were set up for an awesome day on the water.

We tried a variety of techniques - popping cork,  jigging, light tackle, and drift fishing - to cover different depths and parts of the water column. Jess was a quick learner and did a great job working the rod, and it wasn't long before she had her first Spotted seatrout on the line. What a fantastic day out on the water with Jonathan Tanner at South Padre Island, Texas! The weather was perfect - partly cloudy throughout the day, which made for comfortable fishing conditions. The water was great, and we were excited to get our lines in and see what the fish were biting.

We started the day with some sof plastic fishing, working the deeper waters for big reds and black drum. The Crevalle jacks were really fired up, putting up some great fights on our light tackle. As the tide shifted, we switched to some slower, drift fishing, and that's when the spotted seatrout really started to turn on. Jonathan was hooking into fish left and right, and we had a blast working the flats and cuts for those speckled trout.

By the time we wrapped up the trip, we had a nice mixed bag - some nice redfish, black drum, Crevalle jacks, and plenty of spotted seatrout. It was the perfect blend of different techniques and species, keeping us on our toes and giving us a well-rounded experience. Though we didn't limit out on any one fish, we had a fantastic time and left with some great memories.

As soon as we got our lines in the water, the action started heating up. We started off with some bay fishing,  working the deeper structure and channels. It wasn't long before Justin's rod doubled over, and he was into a nice Spotted Seatrout. That fish put up a great fight, stripping line and carving sharp turns, but Justin kept cool and landed it with skill. We switched it up and tried some light tackle jigging, and that's when the Redfish started to show up. These powerful fish put on an incredible aerial display, jumping and shaking their heads, trying to throw the hook. But we kept the pressure on, and Justin managed to boat a few nice Redfish as well.

The trip had a great flow to it, with the fishing staying consistent throughout the day. In between bites, we got to take in the beautiful Texas scenery and enjoy the peaceful time on the water. As we drifted and jigged, the action started picking up right away. The spotted seatrout were really active, smashing our bait and putting up a great fight. It didn't take long before the rods started bending - the Spotted Seatrout were on the feed! The group was fired up, reeling in fish left and right. We saw some quality size, too, with a few really nice trout in the mix.
