Flathead Catfish

It was a beautiful morning in Rio Hondo, Texas, as we set out on our 5 Hour (AM)Fishing Trip with Today We Fish Charter and Adventures. The weather was clear, and the conditions were just right for a great day on the water. Though we didn't have any specific details about the trip, I knew this time of year in this part of Texas is prime time for targeting fish like Flathead catfish and Spotted seatrout. 

As we got our lines in the water, the action started almost immediately. The Flathead catfish were really fired up, hitting our baits hard and giving the anglers on board a serious workout. We switched up our techniques, trying deep-sea, jigging, light tackle, and drift fishing to see what they wanted. The fish were in a feeding mood, and we managed to boat some nice Spotted seatrout as well. It was just nonstop excitement, with rods bending and drag peeling all morning long.

The two anglers with us, Mike Flores and his buddy, were all smiles the entire time. They were having a blast working the different techniques and feeling the raw power of those Flathead cats. In between the flurries of action, we had the chance to take in the beautiful Texas scenery and enjoy the peace and quiet of being out on the water. It was the perfect mix of great fishing and good company.
